Pro Soccer Academy - About Us

Pro Soccer Academy is the natural successor to Patrick Franks Soccer Schools, a long and distinguished soccer school that has been running in the county of Northamptonshire for the best part of a decade. The football academy is designed to help children of all abilities continue their development in football and help them understand the necessity of a good level of personal fitness. About 6 years ago Patrick became good friends with Andy Burgess, a professional footballer formerly with Rushden & Diamonds FC and now with Oxford United FC. In the Summer of 2006 Patrick and Andy decided to re-develop and re-brand the soccer schools along with Andy’s current team mate at Oxford, Chris Hargreaves.

Andy Burgess

Andy currently plays for Conference National side Oxford United, for whom he signed for from his local side Rushden & Diamonds. Andy played for 'The Diamonds' for almost 10 years, joining straight from school, and was a member of the team that won the Conference and Third Division in the space of three seasons. 'Burge' holds the Rushden club record for the most ever Football League appearances - 147 - is 6th in the all-time appearance chart and also scored the clubs 1000th goal.

Andy, 25, has over 6 years of football management and coaching experience, having managed Wollaston Victoria U13/14, Welwyn Pegasus U14/15, Kettering Ladies and is currently Assistant Manager to the Nottingham Forest's Ladies First Team .

Chris Hargreaves

Chris has recently signed for Torquay United having spent the past few seasons at Oxford United, having signed in the summer of 2005 from Brentford FC. 'Greavesy' has played well over 500 first team games, and has huge experience of the game having played for his home town team, Grimsby Town, as well as West Bromwich Albion, Hereford United, Plymouth Argyle and Northampton Town. Chris, has played under a host of top managers, and has the experience of captaining many of the teams he has played for.

 

Patrick Franks - Head Coach

Patrick has been coaching in Northamptonshire for 9 years. Having developed his own soccer schools and after school clubs successfully in Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering, Rushden & Roade, he has also worked for Rushden & Diamonds Football Club, Northampton Town Football Club, Aston Villa Football Club and Arsenal Football Club, running such things as birthday parties, after school clubs, holiday soccer schools and development centres.

Pat is FA Qualified, CRB Registered, a Registered First Aider, has Child Protection Qualifications and is Fully Insured.
